When powder coating metal parts, surface preparation is critical. Sandblasting, also known as abrasive blasting, not only eliminates rust, debris and other contaminants, but also creates the ideal texture for powder to bond with the surface of your parts.
A well-prepared surface is critical to reduce the chance of defects and uneven coating. Our sandblasting service reliably provides consistent results, ensuring that after powder coating, your parts will look great for years to come.

We understand that deadlines are crucial, which is why we have an enclosed outdoor sandblasting station, ensuring we can get your parts and components prepared for powder coating even when it’s raining or snowing.

There are multiple sandblasting surface preparation standards to choose from. All of them will prepare your metal parts for powder coating by removing loose rust, mill scale, grease and other debris, as well as roughening the surface to ensure proper powder adhesion. Higher degrees of blasting will also remove more tightly adhered materials. This will increase coating life, but will also take longer and cost more, so a balance must be struck depending on your needs.
In order from least intense to most intense, the available options are Brush-off Blasting, Commercial Blasting, Near-White Metal, and White Metal. Brush-off Blasting is quickest, but will only remove loose material. The remaining options remove progressively more of the tightly adhered material from the surface of your parts, with White Metal Blasting fully eliminating all streaks, stains and shadows. We will help you make the right choice for your parts depending on your budget, their condition, and the environment they will be placed in.
